Sport is in my blood. I started cycling when I was 6 years old, even became professional from '98 till 2001. Travelling around through whole Europe I soon discoverd the differents between events that were made for the active athlete and evenst that were started to draw more tourist with help of the active athlete.
Events that are there for the athlete will never grow big as they lack often the support of regional institutions, where events started to get more tourists are often better organised and funded by regional institutions.
My believe is that events made to draw more tourist will also benefit the active athlete.
